New Intros From Thermador at #KBIS2017!
Share the Exceptional – and today, I will, as I share my two favorite new product intros from #BlogTourKBIS sponsor, Thermador!
As many of you know, Sally and I recently returned from the 2017 National Kitchen and Bath Association’s wholesale tradeshow known as #KBIS2017, where I participated in #BlogTourKBIS, along with 24 of my fellow interior designers from all parts of the United States and Canada.
I had a wonderful time meeting everyone and viewing all of the exciting new product introductions from our #BlogTourKBIS sponsors like Thermador, the topic of today’s sponsored post.
Before I dive into my two favorite new product introductions from Thermador, I would first like to thank Veronika Miller, (shown with Sally and I below) the CEO of http://modenus.com and http://designhounds.com, for inviting me on my first #BlogTour experience and for making sure Sally was included in several of the events.
And thank you to each of you on #BlogTourKBIS, too, for making me feel welcomed, especially Chicago based interior designer and retailer Michael Ryan, whom I spent quite a few fun hours with *after hours* and Los Angeles based interior designer, Laura Schwartz-Muller of Four Point Design Build, who has been so supportive of the work Sally and I do for our clients here in Boston. And now to Thermador!
Established in 1916, Thermador is a leading innovator in appliances for luxury kitchens. Sally and I have specified their appliances in several of our projects, including our recently completed Milton kitchen project, a complete kitchen renovation for a 100 year old home, shown below.

The two new introductions from Thermador at #KBIS2017 that most captured my attention, due to their thoughtful design and the way they will work for our clients who are serious cooks and who own older, historic homes here in New England, were the LIBERTY Induction Cooktop and the new 30″ Five Burner Pro Harmony Range.
For those of you not yet familiar with the benefits of induction cooking versus cooking on a gas range, the major differences are explained well in this graphic from Thermador’s site:
Before the LIBERTY induction cooktop’s introduction, Thermador’s FREEDOM induction cooktop (still available) was the state of the art in induction cooktops.
It looks like this:
The FREEDOM induction cooktop from Thermador has major advantages over standard induction cooktops, as you can see in the graphic below, but now, with the 2017 introduction of their new LIBERTY induction cooktop, they’ve innovated yet again. The new LIBERTY induction cooktop from Thermador looks like this:
For our clients (and any of you reading this) who are serious cooks here in Boston and the New England area, I think the LIBERTY induction cooktop’s major benefit over the FREEDOM is its flexibility to accommodate even larger cooking appliances, due to its 11 oval conductors set into 3 separate cooking zones, as you can see from its design above.
Also, the LIBERTY’s new *Move Mode* technology senses the heat setting of any pot or pan you put on the entire cooktop, no matter what the zone, and that setting automatically transfers with the pot or pan wherever you move it on the cooktop, making it very easy to cook multiple dishes on the cooktop at the same time, without worrying about the temperature settings.
My second favorite new introduction from Thermador is their 30″ Five Burner Pro Harmony Range, shown below.
For our clients here with smaller, historic homes, second kitchens in their pool houses or weekend getaway coastal homes in Cape Cod and surrounding areas, Thermador’s smaller 30″ footprint has always been a good option for them, but the HARMONY range’s new 5 burner option ( versus the standard 4 ) will give them even more flexibility to cook multiple dishes together, thereby saving them time when they are entertaining their family and friends.
However, it is the fact that this range’s BTU’s are approved to work in low recirculations situations, enabling us to install it in areas access to outside venting is an issue, that makes it my 2nd favorite new product introduction.
There were several more exciting new product introductions from Thermador, including a new wine caddy insert for their Star Sapphire dishwasher, shown below. If you know me, you know I love a great wine, and this insert really caught my attention.
Thermador’s customizable interior racks also allows for the washing and sterilization of big pots and pans, which means no more standing for hours on end at Thanksgiving or Christmas while you wash them because they won’t fit in your current dishwasher.
In addition, their Star Sapphire dishwasher has a 20 minute wash cycle available – just one more example of how this manufacturer is thinking about how to save the luxury homeowner – our clients- the one thing most valuable to them > time.
I took careful notes throughout Thermador’s presentation on their 60″ Pro Range, too, shown at the end of this post.My time with Thermador went by too fast to capture every detail of all of their new product introductions, so if you’d like to read about all of them, I invite you click here, to see Thermador’s own blog post detailing each of them.
Again, my thanks to Thermador for the opportunity they afforded me through their sponsorship of @Modenus’s #BlogTourKBIS to experience first hand the new innovations that will make a difference in the quality of our client’s lives – and hopefully in yours – for years to come.
