Project Overview: This homeowner dreamed of a beautiful, gracious master bedroom/bath suite that would make her feel special. During this challenging project, we tore out two small bathrooms, a maids room and back hall down to the studs. We also reconfigured walls and a washer/dryer to create a better layout for an expanded master bathroom and dressing room.
The new bathroom measures 210 square feet, more than enough room for the couple to co-exist peacefully. To produce extra storage space, we introduced ingenious touches such as pullout pilasters in the vanity and a built-in armoire for linens and a music system.
We designed all of the cabinetry in the bathroom as well as the millwork around the two mirrors that frame the two-person whirlpool. Dark green marble counters and backsplash, tasteful crown moldings, an antique chandelier and elaborate window treatments reinforce the feeling of elegance that the client desired. But in its repetition of the same elements used uniformly throughout the space, the room still manages to exude calm and simplicity.
