Creating French Style in your Home – Catching my Breath… Period Hardware Surprises
The past several days have left me feeling a little whacky and cross-eyed as I have totally immersed myself in our almost 5,000 images of Paris and the French architecture and interiors Sally and I took this past year. Kind of like this image…
Today I worked on mirrors and mantels, lighting and hardware. It’s interesting what patterns you begin to see with this kind of total immersion. All the glitz and romance begins to fade away as you start to grasp the reasoning behind why structures were laid out the way they were and the very rational thinking that lies hidden beneath all the glitz and glamour of the the old chateaus. Today’s surprise was hardware, if I’m to believe my limited sampling of data. It was very simple and diminutive. I had expected otherwise.

I found myself loving the scale of these pieces and admiring how they sit there, quietly doing their job!

Some amazing inspirational images and love that hidden door…how fun!
Thanks Deb. It’s been a real challenge and learning experience to go thru 5,000 some odd images preparing for this presentation. Pattens have begun to emerge that I had not seen in the moment of taking all the pictures.
